The Weekend Where I Stayed Up Until 5am To Watch The Oscars...

lifestyle

Happy Monday and happy Leap Day friends! I am lucky enough to have today off so I am using this extra day to grab a coffee with a friend and to treat myself to a mani and pedi!

*Cannot find the original source*

This weekend consisted of

Taking the train back home Friday afternoon to visit my parents and friends from my hometown for the weekend.

Heading to a sports bar to watch my country compete in a rugby match with my bestie, lots of alcoholic drinks were consumed and our team won.

Go reds!

Coming home straight after the match at 10pm because I cannot hang like I used too. I promptly fell asleep by 10.05 #oldladystatus

Waking up to an early morning breakfast of pancakes, eggs and bacon, is there anything better?

Staying in most of Saturday to study for a few exams I have coming up in University. I was reading and taking notes for most of the day.

Online shopping to see all of the new spring clothes coming in the shops. Added a few items to my cart and cannot wait to buy them #hurryuppayday

Feeling a little rough Saturday evening so stayed in my Pjs and caught up on The People v Oj Simpson. Guys I am addicted to this show, seriously!

Going for a early morning walk/jog/run on Sunday considering the sun was out, it felt so good to actually get some vitamin D #hurryupsumme

Visiting my grandparents who cooked dinner for the family. Sunday lunches at my grandparents are the best, they always manage to cook way more than is necessary.

Followed up by my favourite dessert a chocolate cake with ice cream. I think I may of put on 5 pounds this weekend.

Lots of baby snuggles from the newest addition to the family. Baby Jacob was born this month and I was too busy snuggling to take anymore photos than this one that was on SnapChat.

Staying up until 5am on Sunday to watch the Oscars! So happy that Leo won best actor, his speech was so good. Good things come to those who wait ey?

Sleeping in on Monday because I had a day off and needed all the sleep I could get after watching the Oscars.

Hope you all had a wonderful weekend!

Friday Faves...

five on friday

Here are my favourites from this week...

Video

So Wednesday night was the National Television Awards, an awards show that is all about television shows obviously. The two hosts of This Morning, which is a breakfast show won an award. So they went to an after party to celebrate and got really drunk but had to present the next mornings TV show, they turned up still in their clothes from the night before and hadn't even had time to go home. It was so funny seeing these two trying to present a show whilst still drunk and hungover! Definitely give it a watch if you have time.

Photo

This is a photo of me and my bestfriend. I haven't really seen much of her since I moved away but its so nice to know that she is always there for me whenever I need her. Those friendships where you pick up where you left off are special to me. Love you Luc!

Product

Sorry for the rubbish quality, had to take it quickly with my Iphone.

I have really dry skin on my face, its all red and my make up never looks right because of it. I have tried tons of moisturisers but they all end up making my skin look oily or because of my sensitive skin I have flare ups. The other day I was at my local store and picked up something by Simple to give it a try, it claimed it was kind to the skin so why not? I have used it all this week and I can already feel a difference. I think it cost around £3-£4.

Recipe

I found this super easy recipe and I can't remember where and I didn't take any photos of my finished product because I was too hungry but you have to trust me that it is was so good! Taste just like a pizza but tons easier.

Ingredients- Tomato puree, cheese of your choice (I used mature and mild cheddar) and toppings of your choice (I used pepperoni) and a baguette.

Step one: Cut down the middle of the baguette length ways, and take out the middle so the baguette has no top and is hollow.

Step two: Fill your baguette first with cheese then the tomato puree and more cheese

Step three: Add the topping(s) of your choice

Step four: Bake in the oven for 10-20 minutes until the cheese is melted.

Step five: Eat away!

Funnies

Haha!! But really...some people really think everything is about themselves.:

Some people really do think they are the best thing since slice bread when really they aren't nothing special so this made me laugh out loud.

So true, all my house inspiration and food recipes are stored on Pinterest. Now just to win the lotto;)

I only just realised this, must explain why a pint of ice cream gets eaten within a day around these parts.

And finally

You there, Friday! Welcome back you sexy son of a bitch! We've been looking for you since Monday!:

Whats Hap-pinning Wednesday {7}

link up

The weather around here has been horrible lately with temperatures reaching -3 degrees. Usually as soon as the cold weather hits I am ready to get my booty on a plane and head to somewhere warmer. So all I have been doing lately is dreaming, researching and booking about a summer vacation where I can get some sun on this pasty skin of mine. Planning a vacation to somewhere is what gets me through these harsh winter months.

These are the top 4 places where I would want to travel to this Summer...

1| New York

Source

There is just something about NYC that just gets me. It is one of those must see places that you have to go to once in your life (personally), I have been dreaming about going to New York ever since I was a little girl. Empire state building, Statue of Liberty, Central Park, 9/11 memorial, all the shopping and everything else in between, New York I am coming for you.

2| Amsterdam

Source

Considering I live in the U.K I really should take advantage more of the cheap flights to Europe. I have never been to Amsterdam but just looking at the pictures of all the beautiful canals is just picturesque. I really would like to just take in all the beautiful scenery by foot or by bike and this city seems perfect for that amongst other things. My friend went there and she really enjoyed it and it definitely by passed her expectations.

3) Paris

Source

Oh Paris! Paris is one of my very favourite cities to visit. I have been twice and am going for a third time in July and I am so stinking excited. I haven't been since I was 15 which was 4 years ago so I can't wait to visit all my favourite places and also the fact that I won't have to rush around like a tourist because I have seen most of the tourist spots before. Although I will visit the Eiffel tower again and obviously Disney Land is a must but other than that I am free. The food is delicious in Paris so many lovely cafes to go to for a bite to eat. The ambiance, the scenery and everything else makes Paris one of my all time favourite cities.

4| Italy

Source

My next door neighbours visit Italy at least once every year and love it so much. After seeing all their pictures and hearing all their stories it has made me want to go so much. Venice, Rome, Florence and Sicily would be amazing. After all Italian is my favourite cuisine and nobody does pizza like Italians so I have heard.

What is on your travel bucket list? Do you get to cross anything off that list this summer or are you just dreaming?

PS If you have any recommendations about hotels, places to eat, things to do in any of the above cities then do let me know!

Weekend Happenings...

weekend

This is so true

Sorry for the radio silence over in these parts yesterday, it was just I had one extra day to squeeze in with family before it was time to head back to university.

So lets get on with my very 'exciting' weekend which consisted of...

-Travelling back Friday evening to my hometown and standing up on the train for an hour of my journey, public transport is rough sometimes.

-Relaxing the rest of the night and watching Celebrity Big Brother.

-Sleeping in Saturday morning which was well needed.

-Bundling up and going for an afternoon walk with my mother. It was pretty chilly but was so nice to take advantage of this dry weather.

Yikes so cold!

-Went and visited my little cousin and played Monopoly with him. He is 6 and he won TWICE, without me even letting him.

As you can see I lost.

-Playing this addicting game on the Xbox called Peggle which got me all kinds of frustrated as I could not complete this one level.

-Ending the night with take out from Dominos and the last episode of Making a Murderer. This had me hooked from start to finish. Although the more I watch it the more I think he is guilty, what are your thoughts on it?

-Hitting the grocery store early Sunday morning to pick out ingredients for dinner.

-Stopping by Starbucks for my much needed caffeine fix.

-Spending the rest of the morning with my grandparents and helping them around the house.

One of my favourite people, so lucky to still have this man around.

-Making this copy cat recipe of TGI Friday's potato skins. So good!

This CopyCat TGI Friday's Potato Skins Recipe was a HUGE hit with my entire family. In the past we will make a trip to TGI Friday's to enjoy an appetizer pl:

-Meeting up with one of my closest friends from school who I haven't seen in so long and had a Disney movie marathon.

-Ate my weight in sweets during said movie marathon. Calories don't count on weekends right?

Working on the blog for a little while, prepping this post and responding to comments etc.

-Chilling out for the rest of the evening with some dessert and Celebrity Big Brother.

-Falling asleep at around 10pm as I can't hang like I used too.

-Working on my 2,000 word essay on Monday for my Philosophy class, I managed to get 200 words done. I always spend more time complaining than actually doing work.

-Going out for lunch to Nandos with my two friends.

-Having a nice bubble bath with candles and reading some of my new book.

-Catching up on all your blogs that I didn't manage to get around to reading before having an early night again.

I had such a great weekend with my family, as I get older I start to appreciate my family time more, life really is too short.

What did you get up to this weekend?
