The Weekend Where I Stayed Up Until 5am To Watch The Oscars...

Happy Monday and happy Leap Day friends! I am lucky enough to have today off so I am using this extra day to grab a coffee with a friend and to treat myself to a mani and pedi!

*Cannot find the original source*

This weekend consisted of

Taking the train back home Friday afternoon to visit my parents and friends from my hometown for the weekend.

Heading to a sports bar to watch my country compete in a rugby match with my bestie, lots of alcoholic drinks were consumed and our team won.

Go reds!

Coming home straight after the match at 10pm because I cannot hang like I used too. I promptly fell asleep by 10.05 #oldladystatus

Waking up to an early morning breakfast of pancakes, eggs and bacon, is there anything better?

Staying in most of Saturday to study for a few exams I have coming up in University. I was reading and taking notes for most of the day.

Online shopping to see all of the new spring clothes coming in the shops. Added a few items to my cart and cannot wait to buy them #hurryuppayday

Feeling a little rough Saturday evening so stayed in my Pjs and caught up on The People v Oj Simpson. Guys I am addicted to this show, seriously!

Going for a early morning walk/jog/run on Sunday considering the sun was out, it felt so good to actually get some vitamin D #hurryupsumme

Visiting my grandparents who cooked dinner for the family. Sunday lunches at my grandparents are the best, they always manage to cook way more than is necessary.

Followed up by my favourite dessert a chocolate cake with ice cream. I think I may of put on 5 pounds this weekend.

Lots of baby snuggles from the newest addition to the family. Baby Jacob was born this month and I was too busy snuggling to take anymore photos than this one that was on SnapChat.

Staying up until 5am on Sunday to watch the Oscars! So happy that Leo won best actor, his speech was so good. Good things come to those who wait ey?

Sleeping in on Monday because I had a day off and needed all the sleep I could get after watching the Oscars.

Hope you all had a wonderful weekend!

Weekend Happenings...

weekend

This is so true

Sorry for the radio silence over in these parts yesterday, it was just I had one extra day to squeeze in with family before it was time to head back to university.

So lets get on with my very 'exciting' weekend which consisted of...

-Travelling back Friday evening to my hometown and standing up on the train for an hour of my journey, public transport is rough sometimes.

-Relaxing the rest of the night and watching Celebrity Big Brother.

-Sleeping in Saturday morning which was well needed.

-Bundling up and going for an afternoon walk with my mother. It was pretty chilly but was so nice to take advantage of this dry weather.

Yikes so cold!

-Went and visited my little cousin and played Monopoly with him. He is 6 and he won TWICE, without me even letting him.

As you can see I lost.

-Playing this addicting game on the Xbox called Peggle which got me all kinds of frustrated as I could not complete this one level.

-Ending the night with take out from Dominos and the last episode of Making a Murderer. This had me hooked from start to finish. Although the more I watch it the more I think he is guilty, what are your thoughts on it?

-Hitting the grocery store early Sunday morning to pick out ingredients for dinner.

-Stopping by Starbucks for my much needed caffeine fix.

-Spending the rest of the morning with my grandparents and helping them around the house.

One of my favourite people, so lucky to still have this man around.

-Making this copy cat recipe of TGI Friday's potato skins. So good!

This CopyCat TGI Friday's Potato Skins Recipe was a HUGE hit with my entire family. In the past we will make a trip to TGI Friday's to enjoy an appetizer pl:

-Meeting up with one of my closest friends from school who I haven't seen in so long and had a Disney movie marathon.

-Ate my weight in sweets during said movie marathon. Calories don't count on weekends right?

Working on the blog for a little while, prepping this post and responding to comments etc.

-Chilling out for the rest of the evening with some dessert and Celebrity Big Brother.

-Falling asleep at around 10pm as I can't hang like I used too.

-Working on my 2,000 word essay on Monday for my Philosophy class, I managed to get 200 words done. I always spend more time complaining than actually doing work.

-Going out for lunch to Nandos with my two friends.

-Having a nice bubble bath with candles and reading some of my new book.

-Catching up on all your blogs that I didn't manage to get around to reading before having an early night again.

I had such a great weekend with my family, as I get older I start to appreciate my family time more, life really is too short.

What did you get up to this weekend?

A Very Low Key Weekend...

fall

This weekend was full of relaxation and Netflix considering I was out for the count most of the weekend.

Friday it was my little cousins birthday, he turned 8 and I can't believe how quick he is growing. I surprised him by turning up for his birthday celebrations and stayed the night. When he opened the door and seen me he was so shocked and excited and wouldn't leave me alone the whole night. We played on the Xbox, played monopoly, watched the Minion movie and had take out food. Nothing better than family time, such a great start to my weekend.

I planned on Saturday to start packing up the rest of my things ready to move considering I only have 2 weeks until move in day but my friend called and asked if I wanted to go shopping, so I tagged along and spent the day at my local shopping centre.

I remembered that in the beginning of October my university is putting on a welcome ball and I desperately needed an outfit for that. I was originally looking for a long dress but being 5 foot 1 they were all too long for me so I ended up going for a midi dress. It isn't exactly a ball type dress but oh well.

This is the dress I ended up buying.
I decided to go with navy.

I also couldn't go shopping and not pick up any bits for Fall so I ended up coming home with 2 candles, a plaid shirt and new ankle boots.

I left around 3 ish as I wasn't feeling too well, I still haven't got rid of the cold I have now had for 3 weeks and I keep feeling dizzy/faint. So I fixed myself some homemade butternut squash soup and a grilled cheese sandwich to see if that would fix it.

I then settled down on the sofa with a cup of tea, a blanket and had a good 2 hour nap. When I woke up it was 7 o'clock and I decided to have a nice hot bath (nothing better when you are ill) and ended up watching Trainwreck on my laptop. I loved this film so much, bit rude in places but that didn't bother me. I think I went to sleep around 9pm as I just wasn't feeling myself.

Sunday I still didn't feel well so I cancelled the lunch date I had with my friend and instead had a date with my bed and Netflix. My mum was kind enough to bring me chicken noodle soup and some hot squash whilst I just napped, caught up on blog reading, made a few blog posts and watched season 7 of Castle (ready for when it comes back on next week)

Happy Monday everyone, I am spending this morning in a germ invested doctors office having some shots and seeing if they can tell what is wrong with me #notfun

Weekend Happenings...

life

Nothing spectacular happened over the weekend so this will be a short and sweet recap! I pretty much lazed around all weekend which was much needed after a whole week of being on vacation and partying for the whole week.

Friday I had plans to go shopping with my nan but it was raining and we didn't fancy going in the rain so I hung around my nans for the morning.

It was like this all day and did not let up. Freezing temperatures along with wind and rain no thank you.

My grandad bought cookies from Miss Millies cookies so I enjoyed one or two before going home. I may of ate them all before I had time to snap a picture. But I had the white chocolate and raspberry and the salted caramel cookie. Then I decided to sort out my wardrobe because it was so unorganised and I was going insane. It took me around 3 hours to do and I was exhausted. I took an afternoon nap before tidying around the house a little. Friday night it was my turn to cook dinner so I got started on that. I cooked pulled pork, corn on the corb and potato salad. It was so delicious. I ended the night playing an intense game of cards with my family.

Saturday I got up early and went for a run which never happens. It started to rain and got ridiculously cold so I headed home after 25 minutes but some exercise is better than nothing. I then headed to Tesco which is a shop that sells clothes, electrical items and food. I may of bought 3 tubs of Ben&Jerry's ice cream. Later on in the evening I went to an Italian resturant with my father.

I managed to take a quick photo of my outfit before I left and before I spilt wine down my white shorts.

I was so hungry I didn't have time to take a picture of my food but it was one of the best lasange I have ever tasted. After food we went out to the patio area and enjoyed a bottle of wine before calling it a night.

Sunday I stayed in and helped my mother prepare dinner. We had a traditional roast dinner with white chocolate and strawberry cheesecake for dessert. I then spent the rest of the day/night watching Castle with my mother. We are starting from the beginning as we only caught season 4 when it was on the TV one time so we are a few seasons behind considering series 7 has just launched. I ended up falling asleep on the sofa and woke up Monday morning still on the sofa oops.

What did you get up to over the weekend? Anything exciting or worth sharing? I hope you have a fantastic week!

My Weekend...

fathers day

My weekend started on Thursday with pizza and drinks with my friend. We haven't been able to get together lately as we have both been studying for exams. We spent the night eating, laughing and drinking cocktails. It is always a fun time when we get together.

This pizza was so delicious. It was so big I couldn't even fit it all in the picture that is why it is all super squashed #sorrynotsorry

Saturday was spent catching up with my mother in the day. She has been on holiday so I haven't seen her in over a week. So we spent the morning eating pancakes, catching up and watching Law&order SVU. Can I just say that my mother makes the best pancakes, I wish I had a picture but they were that good I ate them all before I could take a picture.
Last week it was 4 of my friends birthdays so on Saturday we celebrated by going out. We had some drinks and a bbq in one of the girls garden and I was in heaven. I love bbq food, there was corn on the cob, pulled pork, burgers, hot dogs, salad, coleslaw, chicken, steak. Again I devoured my food before I could get a picture, or was it because I was too drunk who knows? We played a few drinking games such as ring of fire before leaving for the club. We got free drinks and free entry because it was my friends birthday and I had such a good time dancing the night away, until I was complaining my feet were hurting. I don't wear heels all to often so when I do I pay the price ouch. I got in at 4am and my bed had never felt so good!

Sunday was spent celebrating Fathers Day. I didn't get to see my father this past weekend, he lives about two hours away from me so I spent fathers day with him the weekend before. We went out for some lunch and to do some shopping and I really enjoyed spending time with him as I don't get to see him too often. Instead I spent fathers day with my grandad and the rest of my family. We went out for a lovely hike in the morning up the mountain, per my grandads request. Even though I was complaining the whole time it really was what I needed. Nothing can beat the fresh air when you aren't feeling too good from the night before. Then afterwards we all went out for a meal, being it was a Sunday we went out for a traditional roast which was so nice. I then spent the evening watching Monsters inc with my little cousin before heading home and falling asleep at 8pm.

Today I am enjoying the beautiful weather and spending time outside catching up on blog reading and other blog stuff. It feels so nice not to be on a schedule now that college is over. Although in a few weeks I will be moaning that I am bored but for now I am really enjoying it.

How can I be mad that it is Monday when the weather is like this.

*I was having way to much fun on the weekend to take any photos, I am trying to be more intentional with my time and just enjoy the moments instead of snapping pictures*
